• James W Gerald was the US ambassador
• The Austria Empire was ruled by Franz Ferdinand's uncle
• There was a riot in the year of 1912
• in 1914 Franz Ferdinand became the emperor in waiting
• on the 28th June Franz Ferdinand and Sophie (Franz's wife) arrive in Sarajevo and was shot in Sarajevo. They were both killed by a member of black hand.

·         World war 1

·         The world war 1 was the worst war , the greatest war known to man , all gathered together

·         It killed the most people ever.

·         The second world war one is the continuation of the world war 1

·         1914-1945 – the secon 30 years war

·         For the first time automobiles , airplanes  were used, tanks, u boats, dreadnoughts, dirigibles, rapid fire and long distance cannon, howitzers and mortars were used

·         Germany’s plan

·         Maginolt line – french defensive position 

·         Germany , austri hungary and France tripple alliance (expands quickly but later bogged down)

·         No one actually won the war , it was a war of attrition

·         Strategy- to strave the other’s army until they are not strong enough to fight back

·         Gatling gun – first machine gun (like a miny gun)

·         Until gatling gun come to play , the army still march forward for war
